This is another mexi-ping crossing that Bonfield recently made. Cole sent me a few of these seed grown hybrids to grow out, and here they are recovering from the shipping stresses. He showed me a flower pic from one of the clones and it looked very similar to the flowers of Pinguicula 'ANPA A'. dvg

Another update from a later date, still on the same but now darkening paper towel. And a more recent pic of them. I tried to move one of them, but they're pretty well dug into their substrate now. dvg

I also acquired one of these wonderful crosses from Cole.
This one is blushing a light shade of red, and the flower is wonderful!
A few weeks later under different colour lights.
And the flower!

Muckydoo, i wasn't expecting a flower like that from this batch; the pink was a pleasant surprise. That's the fun part of making or receiving these new mexi-pings crosses - waiting to see first hand the new surprises of rosettes and blooms finally revealing themselves. Thanks for sharing, it'll be interesting to see how much variation there will be with these individual clones. dvg

dvg, it appears your pretty pings are slowly shrinking and getting ready for a winter nap!

These seed grown clones have been growing under a 7" dome over a 1020 tray for the last few months, and though the leaf coloring has faded to a great extent, there is still some evidence it could again be revived by the dome's removal. dvg

A quick shot update for one of these clones. Have four unique seed grown clones of this cross, but still waiting on flowers from them. dvg

The green rosette is the first clone here to flower. This unopened flower looks to have captured the color traits of one parent, the agnata mother. But this clone looks more like it was fathered by an ANPA A rather than the actual ANPA C father, at this point. An example of an ANPA A flower found on cpphotofinder.com below P. agnata flower below (a flower example of what one might expect) The white band between the purple coloring at each end of the unfurled flower petal is promising. But will have to see what rolls out here to know for sure, and who knows, maybe more ANPA C traits will show up in the fully opened flower. dvg

Just for comparison purposes, here is the ANPA C pollen donor for this cross. This agnata x ANPA C clone's flower shows traits from both the agnata mother and dear old dad, above. dvg
