Definitely have to give that a look! The Ruins by Scott Smith might be an appropriate addition to this list as well.

I found a downloadable pdf of this issue! It will warn you at the download link that the file is too large to scan for viruses, but don't worry, I've scanned it and it's clean. Enjoy! Famous Fantastic Mysteries - April 1940

Apparently the story Green Thoughts by John Collier may have been the inspiration for Little Shop of Horrors. I haven't done too much digging yet, but will add a link here if I find one.

That sounds very interesting, GJ. If you or Bonfield are able to find a readable link or pdf for this story, be sure to post it here. If you're already an online subscriber to Harper's Magazine, you can download a pdf version of John Collier's short story, Green Thoughts for free there. dvg

Absolutely will do. I've instantly become a huge Collier fan after just reading some of his work was adapted to be used in Hitchcock Presents. I actually found a hard copy of a collection of his stories, so I'm going to put it on the "to order" list once I've gotten through some more of the books on my shelf that are waiting to be read.
