Wanted to share another new arrival with you, U. alpina x campbelliana, just after being potted up. This little beauty flowers readily year round, on a 16/8 photoeriod under grow lighrs, according to the seller, Bonfield. Looking forward to seeing how this one performs over the summer here. Thanks again, Cole! dvg

Almost looks like they're singing a duet haha. Great colour! Haha, thanks! But with the hook looming overhead, you know the pressure's on to be pitch perfect and in harmony together... ...so far the bright lights haven't caused them to wilt in the heat of the moment. dvg

Whenever i shoot a bunch of photos, and upload them to my phone, Google Photos makes these gifs and sends them to me. Most of the time, i find them annoying, but decided to share this gif, as it was windy the day I took these shots. dvg

In this situation, that's actually kinda neat, as it allows you to get a more complete picture via the way the lighting plays of different parts of the flower in different frames. Very cool!

The flowers on this clone lasted a good long while. Last week the final flower faded and i clipped the flower stalk off and then placed it in the same pot, in hopes of propagating more of this clone. Last night i had a closer look for new leaf stolons emerging, and didn't find any, but did spy a new flower stalk poking up instead. Had actually expected to see more leaf stolens popping up, but certainly won't complain about getting more flowers from this one, in the bargain. dvg

Wow, this is beautiful! I love the colour! I'm not usually too fond of the colour pink but for some reason this really catches my eye. Great job!!
Also, the almost-open flower from the previous post is giving off some major pink lady slipper vibes!

Wow, this is beautiful! I love the colour! I'm not usually too fond of the colour pink but for some reason this really catches my eye. Great job!! These flowers start out a darker red before briefly fading to pink. Then the coloring changes to an orange hued phase, that they slowly mellow into for the two month duration of their flowers. dvg

A few more pics to hopefully capture some of the color changes that occur as these flowers mature. First a shot from above. dvg

A couple more pics from today, made more challenging, by a blustery wind that bounced the flowers about. dvg
