Just arrived! I'm super excited to add these little guys to my budding collection of CPs, and to hopefully learn how to keep them happy and healthy. Thanks to bonfield for answering my questions, and getting me started with these NOIDs.

Can't get over the jump in size between this new pitcher: And the one on the leaf that came before it:

That is a noticeable leap in size. What do you have it mounded in? It looks very happy, but looks like it's growing out from a coconut husk. The good news is your newest pitcher is an intermediate pitcher. That means you'll be getting upper pitchers soon on a vining plant. In lower pitchers, the tendril attaches to the front of the pitcher, intermediate pitchers have the attachment at the side, while uppers attach from the rear. dvg

I had noticed it had a bit of a different shape to it than the rest, but I'd never thought that it might be something other than a lower, as any videos/pictures I've seen that mentioned uppers or intermediates had quite large plants as the subject. Also, while I had read (and consequently observed) that uppers faced away from the tendril, the term intermediate has popped up so rarely that it didn't even cross my mind when looking at it. I'm glad you shared your observation, and made my childlike excitement grow even further. As for what is mounded around the plant, I haven't taken them out of the pots that bonfield sent them in, partly out of a lack of confidence, and partly because they seemed to be happy enough that I didn't figure they needed to be disturbed any further quite yet. I think I remember Cole mentioning somewhere on this forum, though perhaps he can correct me if I'm wrong, that he uses coconut coir in his mix, so perhaps that is contributing to the look, although the wispy bit of browned up moss around it is probably the greatest culprit.

Nice work! It just looks like a coconut husk because of the way the moss was trimmed back, but the substrate does have some coir in it. You could repot it now, it would put out an even more impressive growth spurt with some fresh soil and additional root space.

This one seemed the most grumpy of the group about moving, but it's finally starting to look like its really settled in and accepted its new home, with a couple new pitchers opened, and more on the way.

This one is by far the happiest of my NOIDs. Came home this evening to find its newest pitcher had popped. I really like the subtle green veining it gets in the pitchers. Also, while I was admiring it, I realised it was looking back at me with its own little eyes peeking out from under the hood! Perhaps some N. reinwardtiana parentage? This is the first pitcher on this plant I've noticed this in.

Looking good! You stare at it, and it just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other two Neps you didn't even know were there.

Haha I really hope that's a preview of the CP story authored by Bonfield soon to arrive in the CP fiction thread and bookstores everywhere.

As long as re-hashed Michael Crichton can still turn a profit these days, let me just check... hey, good news!
