Warigami will be the first entry in this thread. This 10 part series consisting of short 11 minute episodes, can be streamed for free on the CBC's GEM website. Very willing to plug this series: watched the whole first season with a friend on Friday night and we both enjoyed it. The show snaps along with good pacing, quickly drawing viewers into it and leaving them wanting for more, as each episode seems to finish all too fast. Serious action scenes are offset with seriously funny, humor bits, thus adding some appreciated levity to the show. For the second installment in this thread, i'd like to recommend a short series of 8 episodes, called Undone. Episodes run approximately 23 minutes each, in this recent release from Amazon. Undone uses a rotoscoped film style, giving it a trippy feel, much as the Richard Linklater directed films, Waking Life and the PKD* adapted film A Scanner Darkly did. The rotoscoping gives this one a graphic novel appearance when seen, adding a surrealness to this viewing experience. This show is very compelling to watch, has some good comedy in place, when needed, and is full of flawed but likeable characters. I found it to be a through-the-looking-glass tale, where on the objective consensual reality side of the mirror, the protagonist is seen as possibly being schizophrenic, while on the other side of the glass in her subjective reality, she is seen as trying to come to terms with and deal with what seems like a spiritual crisis, in having to deal with an expanded consciousness, where her awareness is nonlocal, no longer being bound by either temporal or spatial limitations. I don't know about the rest of you, but with movie releases pushed back and production halted on numerous projects on small and large screen alike, finding something to watch that hasn't already lost its value as background noise is becoming increasingly difficult. If you are like me and grew up on '80s horror movies, there are worse ways to kill(lol) four and a half hours than "In Search of Darkness". Unfortunately, there was a bizarre distribution model set up where they want $50 USD for the dvd and a few scant extras that when I looked into it, are often poorly manufactured or damaged in the mail. That being said, it is definitely worth the time for fans of the genre, or even people who appreciate the nostalgia factor, so if you can find a way to donate to them through their official page, it's 80shorrordoc.com. For those who can't just set $70 CAD on fire at the moment, here are some other ways to view it. Btw, the kid on the poster is pretty much me circa 1990, lol. This is a good night to check out "In Search of Darkness", and I'd also have to recommend another documentary I've seen recently, "Memory: The Origins of Alien"!

However you manage to view it, James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction is a fantastic exploration of over a century's worth of Sci-Fi cinema. Whether you want to know more about the behind-the-scenes aspects of many of the greatest film entries within this genre, or examine their greater societal commentary and impact, this is an important venture into a category of entertainment that likely influenced us to pursue this specific field of horticulture.

I'll have to look out for that. But you can't have a history of Science Fiction without all of those great books.

I saw this one in theatres. Really charming and a fantastic last role for Harry Dean Stanton.

Bug Outwww.imdb.com/title/tt14599882/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0This is an amazing show! I've delayed the release of the new Victoria Butterfly Gardens platform(that will be next week now) after hearing about it so I could watch it first, and am I ever glad I did! It's a real eye-opener about the sleazy underbelly of an insectarium/butterfly pavilion that was robbed back in 2018, and goes into detail about not just the robbery, but also the criminal dark side of the invertebrate hobby. I would recommend this to pretty much anyone in this hobby as we probably all know a few types like the people featured in this series. I would especially recommend it to Don Calveley(CEO of Truffles Group, parent company of the VBG), Justin Dunning and John Cambridge seem to have a lot of the same narcissistic traits and I wouldn't be shocked if Justin was capable of doing many of the same things as John.
