GJ, i remember reading this care sheet for praetermissa some time ago, and noticed they didn't recommend spraying for this species. Because i could not understand why I should not be spraying this species, while spraying was recommended for most of their other epiphytic Utrics, I simply chose to ignore that advice. Thought you might find this interesting. Click on "plant care" in the link below www.araflora.com/p710/bladderwort_utricularia_praetermissadvg

Interesting! It says the same for U. humboldtii, and 'Nudlinger Flair' (even though it says spray away for alpina), so when I saw that, I thought maybe the hybrids that include "no spray" species would also be sensitive to spraying, but then the quelchii x praetermissa it says is fine to be sprayed.

Hi GJ, and that's why it's interesting. It's difficult to decide why certain species and hybrids made the no-spray list while others were exempt from it. Without knowing the reason why, it seems arbitrary at best. Since I stopped spraying, my alpina has opened up an unblemished , perfect specimen flower, so go figure on that one. I guess we have to tailor our care sheets to our own cultural condtions, and accept that our no-spray lists might vary slightly from others. dvg
